Affiliate Disclosure
1. Overview
Our mission at Tension One LLC is to share practical knowledge about post-tension slab engineering, from design principles to on-site execution. To help support that, some links on tension1.com are affiliate links. If you click through and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
2. What an affiliate link is, and how we mark it
An affiliate link is a tracked URL that identifies Tension One LLC as the source of a referral. When you click one and complete a purchase, the merchant pays us a referral fee. The price you pay is unchanged.
Where an article contains affiliate links, that is stated in the article itself, close to the link and before it, so you know before you click and without having to open this page. Affiliate links usually pass through a tracking domain before reaching the merchant.
3. What we promote
Given the nature of our work, the resources we link to may include:
- Technical engineering books and references, such as ACI and PTI standards and structural design guides
- Structural engineering software and calculation tools
- Spreadsheet-based design tools from trusted third-party publishers
- Post-tension hardware, inspection and on-site equipment
- Online courses and training material for civil engineers
Standards and code documents are linked only to the publishing organization, an authorized reseller, or a legitimately free public version. We never link to a site distributing copyrighted standards or software unlawfully, affiliate commission or not.
4. Amazon Associates Program
Tension One LLC participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program that lets sites earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com and affiliated sites. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
5. Our own products
Some links point to ebooks, guides and calculation sheets published by Tension One LLC and sold through third-party platforms. Those are not affiliate links. They are our own products, and we say so where they appear.
6. Why we use affiliate links
Running tension1.com has real costs: hosting, content production, development and the time spent producing free engineering articles. Affiliate commissions offset part of that and keep the technical content free for engineers, contractors and construction professionals.
7. Editorial integrity
Recommendations are based on the technical merit and professional value of the resource, not on commission rates. We do not recommend a book, tool or service we would not use on a real post-tension project. Affiliate relationships have no influence on our editorial content, our calculation methods or the advice given through consulting. The wider rule is written down in our editorial policy.
8. What we do not do
- We do not accept payment to place a product in an article. That is covered by the sponsored content policy in our editorial policy.
- We do not hide an affiliate relationship behind a shortened or unmarked link.
- We do not recommend a product on the basis of its commission rate.
- We do not earn a commission on the services we deliver ourselves.
9. Questions
